Job Description

Our client seeks an Assistant Investigator to join their team.Role Profile:Responsibility for assisting with the efficient progression of Enforcement casesreferred to the Enforcement Division from pre-referral to the point of closure.Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the timely and efficient progression ofenforcement cases, including: Assisting the scoping of investigation work;Collection and analysis of information/evidence including drafting documentrequests/statutory notices, conducting recorded interviews withwitnesses/subjects as required; Draft case related documents includinginvestigation letters, public statements, internal and external case relatedcorrespondence; Prepare for, and present cases at, internal case committees whenrequired; Work with team members to prepare for and conclude settlementdiscussions; Prepare for and progress cases through inquiry and/or anylitigation which may arise. Develop and maintain effective relationships withother regulatory bodies, professional bodies and law enforcement agencies.Communicate with relevant case stakeholders including management, supervision,internal and external legal counsel, consultants and case subject(s) etc. toensure timely and appropriate response to both written and oral communications.Ensure internal systems and procedures are adhered to including governance anddecision-making protocols, the Enforcement procedures and the Authority'sintelligence systems. Comply with the requirements set out in the Staff Handbookand other operational policy and procedures issued by the Authority. Key Skillsand Experience: Essential - Evidence of continuing professional development(CPD). An awareness of financial services and associated legislation, regulationand guidance including trends and developments. Demonstrates effectiveinterpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong analyticalskills, a flexible attitude and the ability to quickly and accurately assimilateinformation, to consider any associated risks and to summarise the informationeffectively. Ability to work under pressure, manage a workload of variedcomplexity, to manage competing priorities and to deliver against deadlines.Ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Ability toassist in preparing and conducting meetings with stakeholders at all levels bothinternally and externally. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Desirable Hold or be working towards, a relevant professional qualificationin one of the following fields - investigative practice, risk, compliance, law,accounting or AML/CFT related. Previous relevant experience in either afinancial services, operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role.
