About the role

Want to organise and support real work experience opportunities for students across schools?

Join the Department of Education, Sport and Culture’s Careers Team at Thie Slieu Whallian as a Careers Assistant, where you will play a hands on role in coordinating placements for students across schools and University College Isle of Man (UCM). You will work with Careers Advisers, the Employability Lead, schools and employers to organise placements, maintain an accurate central database, provide guidance and administrative support, and contribute to employability and careers education across schools and UCM.

This role offers the chance to use your communication, organisation and support skills in a varied and rewarding setting where your work directly supports student learning in and about the workplace. You will build strong links with schools and employers, promote opportunities to stakeholders, and support safe and suitable placements for young people as part of the wider Careers Team. A basic police check is required for this post, the cost of which will be covered by the Isle of Man Government.
