About the role
Want to teach in a school where strong relationships and a love of learning come first?At Ballasalla Primary School, you will deliver high quality classroom teaching and provide cover across multiple classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, including PPA and leadership release. You will teach in line with the school’s approach, build positive relationships with pupils and families, and work with colleagues and other professionals to meet individual learning needs.
You will join a growing school of 162 pupils where every child is known and supported. Led by an experienced Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher, staff work collaboratively across key stages to create a supportive culture that underpins high quality teaching. Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you will be offered two pensions arrangements: the Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) arrangement.
If you are returning to the island and have participated in the Department’s Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the loan will be repaid by the Department upon completion of your second year working as a teacher at one of the island’s schools. The repayment is subject to a maximum of £7,500 for a three year degree course or £10,000 for a four year degree course, and the requirements detailed in the Teacher Loan Cancellation Policy.
