About the role

We’re looking for a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join our small, friendly, forward-thinking and dedicated team in the Pathology department within Manx Care.

This vital job offers a unique, rewarding and diverse environment to work, that comes with an island setting. You’ll be based in a district general hospital laboratory setting and will get to perform a range of specialist investigations due to our island location.

Colorectal and breast are the two areas where major cancer resections are performed at Noble’s Hospital, but a wide range of other specimens are received, and it is hoped that the successful candidates will have complementary areas of general.

There is presently no requirement for gynaecological cytology reporting in this post, however experience in reporting non-gynaecological cytology specimens including breast, lymph node, head and neck, serous fluids, respiratory and gastrointestinal brushings is required.

Due to the location of this post, the applicant must have completed the post-mortem component of FRCPath or be able to demonstrate their expertise in this area.

You'll also have the opportunity to help the Department work towards UKAS accreditation and the future strategy for Cellular Pathology services on the Isle of Man.
