Job Description

This role is a limited term appointment for 12 months.

About the role

Ready to use your clinical expertise to deliver meaningful, Island wide therapeutic interventions to clients with a range of mental health needs? Please note this role is not open to remote or hybrid working.

As a Band 7 Counsellor within Community Wellbeing Service, you’ll take full ownership of a diverse caseload, supporting clients aged 18 and over. Working within a Step 2 therapy service, you will provide high intensity, short term, evidence based therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will carry out structured assessments to identify presenting needs, collaboratively agree therapeutic goals, and deliver interventions in line with recognised clinical models and best practice.

You will need a strong background of assessing clinical risk, including identifying when an individual’s needs fall outside the scope of the service. You will use your professional judgement, making onward referrals and ensuring individuals are signposted to the right level of care in a timely manner. You will manage your caseload effectively, maintaining a strong focus on safe, responsive and person centred care.

Beyond your own caseload, you’ll play an active role in shaping how the service works, contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the service, supporting quality enhancement, service innovation and the embedding of evidence based practice across the team. You’ll use your experience to guide others through clinical supervision, share specialist advice, with a commitment to improving mental health support across the Island. This is a role where your clinical judgement, autonomy and ability to manage complexity will be used every day. Apply now!
