Handyman

Sapphire Care are seeking an experienced individual to join our team. Based at The Grove Mount residential home in Ramsey. The role of the Handyman is to support the management to ensure the building and grounds remain safe for the residents, staff and visitors to The Grest. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day maintenance of the home, within personal capabilities, and adhering to health and safety legislation and Isle of Man Minimum Care Standards. This includes repairs, decorating, replacing items as advised. To effect minor repairs or advise management when external contractors are required to undertake work in the home. Support management to complete regular audits, and the completion of any actions resulting from these. Ensure accurate, concise, and timely records relating to the maintenance of the home and grounds. Act as Health and Safety Lead within the home. Understand responsibilities in relation to adhering to health and safety, fire precautions and emergency procedures, infection control and emergency aid and other Company policies. Ensure the safeguarding of all residents through adherence to relevant legislation, procedures and codes of practice relating to health and safety, fire precautions and emergency procedures, infection control and emergency first aid. Active participation in training to ensure personal development and to build knowledge and competence relative to the role. To develop and maintain effective relationship with external agencies to ensure services are delivered effectively. To support care staff by undertaking journeys to drop off / collect prescriptions / medications etc. This role would ideally be for a suitable experienced tradesman seeking part-time hours.
