Job Description

Our client is looking for a Head of Compliance / MLRO to join their team. Role Profile: This role is Part-Time approximately 22 hours a week. Key Responsibilities: Undertaking the controlled functions of Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, subject to regulatory approval. Acting as secretary on the quarterly compliance and risk management committee. Assist the firm with review of prospective new business providing guidance in respect of client due diligence and client risk assessments. Assessing and recommending amendments to internal systems and controls as well as policies and procedures to facilitate compliance within regulatory framework. Conduct the compliance monitoring programme ensuring timely report of findings and follow up to ensure remediation. Advise on and update the BRA/TRA/CRA as required. Quarterly compliance and risk reports to the board including an update on all key compliance matters, review of registers, resource levels, changes in regulations, updates on compliance projects, high risk client matters and any other compliance matters which need to be reported. Provide support and training to staff with reference to regulatory compliance. Liaising with the FSA and any other regulatory bodies, as necessary. Responsible for FSA returns including ARR/annual statistical/CAR. Signing off on client periodic reviews. Act as Data Protection Officer including: Responsible for the firm's data protection strategy and implementation. Create best practice governance systems, GDPR policies and procedures. Training employees on GDPR compliance requirements. Conducting regular assessments and audits to ensure GDPR compliance. Serving as the point of contract between the company and the relevant supervisory authority. Responding to data subject access requests Key Skills and Experience: Well-developed organisational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills which enables the Head of Compliance to work effectively with all employees, and also to collaborate with external auditors and other parties when required. Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience in risk management. Hold a relevant professional qualification such as an ICA or equivalent. Have a thorough knowledge of the TCSP industry and the applicable regulatory framework. Previously been vetted by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority ('FSA') regarding Head of Compliance and MLRO, or DMLRO roles.
