Job Description
Mooinjer Veggey Nursery based in St. Johns is currently looking for an
enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated Job Share Manager/Nursery Assistant to
join the Mooinjer Veggey team working term-time only. Mooinjer Veggey is an
educational charity (no. 793) which exists to promote knowledge and use of Manx
Gaelic to children from early years upwards. We are therefore looking for a
member of staff who is interested in the Manx language and culture and willing
to learn some key words and phrases in Manx as well as some songs and rhymes.
Existing knowledge of Manx would be an advantage, but not essential as learning
takes place on the job. Our aim is to create a warm and friendly setting and
provide a positive, safe, happy, and nurturing approach to childcare. The
children in our care receive stimulation and develop from our ethos of a
play-based approach to learning through positive experiences. You will need to
be confident, and most importantly passionate about childcare. You will be a
committed, professional, organised, flexible, and responsible Job Share Manager/
Nursery Assistant who is driven by high quality, excellence and has the ability
to lead by example and support the Nursery Manager. The successful candidate
will: Hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years e.g NNEB, NVQ, CACHE, DPP Have
at least 2 years post-qualifying experience in a nursery/childcare setting. Work
10.5 hours a week as Nursery Manager, 24 hours as Nursery Assistant Be prepared
to register with Registration and Inspection as job share manager. Have previous
leadership or supervisory experience. Have sound knowledge of the EYFS. Be
passionate to work with children. Have a desire to learn and grow. Work closely
alongside the Nursery Manager to drive the nursery forward. Make all children
and their families feel special every day and part of a large family. Work
closely alongside their colleagues, supporting and encouraging each other. Be
imaginative, creative, and not afraid to dress up, be covered in paint or gloop,
and most importantly have fun. We are ideally looking for someone with previous
management experience, maybe someone returning to work after a career break,
