Become a Lead Yard Hand at Home of Rest for Old Horses!

As a Lead Yard Hand, you will be pivotal in our daily operations, ensuring high standards of animal care and smooth functioning of public-facing areas. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering daily care for wildlife, ensuring high welfare standards
• Leading by example in yard duties: feeding, mucking out, grooming, and health monitoring
• Supporting the General Manager with daily routines and maintenance tasks
• Caring for the farm environment, including basic repairs and gardening
• Supervising and training two yard hands and volunteers, fostering an inclusive culture
• Providing excellent customer service in the cafe and shop
• Participating in seasonal events and high standards of health and safety

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience working with horses
• Excellent customer service skills
• Full driver’s license
• Flexibility in working hours
• Ability to perform hands-on tasks in all weather conditions
