While a recognised Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification is required to fully perform the role, we welcome applications from those who are not yet qualified and are happy to support them through the MCA training course. Trainees will work under supervision and follow established training protocols. Responsibilities include greeting customers warmly, handling cash and transactions accurately, providing advice on over-the-counter products, managing minor ailments, handling prescriptions, assisting with stock control, and supporting advanced services like flu vaccinations. Candidates should have or be working towards an MCA qualification, be proficient in Microsoft Office, typing, spreadsheets, and comfortable with computer-based tills, mobile phones, and web and app-based platforms. Excellent communication, customer service skills, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential. Previous retail experience is desirable but not required.
