Job Description

Our client seeks a Network Engineer to join their team. Role Profile: Primarilysupport the design and deployment of the Mobile Radio Access network. Operationand maintenance of the current IoM Mobile network. As required support thedesign, operations and maintenance of Fibre Access Network. KeyResponsibilities: Priority for Mobile. Support the design, operations andmaintenance of Mobile Network team as required, this includes and is not limitedto: Site acquisition, planning and physical infrastructure deploymentCommissioning and installing of the Radio Access network equipment Support theconfiguration of new and existing mobile site and optimisation parametersClimbing of masts and towers to perform all operational and maintenance tasks.Support the ongoing routine maintenance and trouble tickets for mobile sites andcustomer faults Carrying out of routine maintenance of all ancillary systemssuch as battery routines and antenna checks including the archiving of allsystems for security. Medium priority for Fixed:Support the design, operationsand maintenance of IOM Access Network team as required, this includes and is notlimited to: Duct infrastructure and civil engineering works. Assist with bothexternal and internal customer installs. Permissions, licences, wayleaves andconsents. Fibre to the Premise installs. Low priority as required: Providesupport to IoM Engineering and Mobile team with the provision of new services,sites, ongoing maintenance and routine faults. Assist with and help manageprojects for feasibility/commissioning/integration in areas such as AccessNetworks, off island connectivity, mobile sites and microwave links includingRFIs/RFPs etc. Assist Design, installation and commissioning of new transmissionand mobile equipment. Perform fault diagnostics and resolution of customer andnetwork faults for the Access and Mobile networks. Support for both hardware andsoftware upgrades on relevant access and mobile network equipment. In addition,the person will be required to Understand and comply with the licence and otherregulatory rules, Data Protection Law, applying to the position. Understand andcomply with the Health and Safety responsibilities and safety proceduresrelevant to the role as defined in the Sure Safety Policy. Undertake appropriatesecurity awareness training covering information security, data protection,financial crime and payment card data and comply with their information securityresponsibilities. Due to the nature of this position, the postholder must hold asatisfactory Basic Police Disclosure. Key Skills & Experience: Essential.Ability to support the climbing team, climbing masts and towers. Eithercertified or willing to become certified Knowledge or willingness to gain anacceptable knowledge of Access and mobile network technologies Self-motivatedwith the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team. Good level ofcompetency with computer-based systems and ability/willingness to learn newsystems. Desire to learn new technologies through both formal and self-learningand ability to adapt to an ever-changing technical environment. Flexibleapproach to work and participation in a callout rota. Highly Desirable. Have orworking towards a Cisco, Mitel or other industry standard qualifications whichwi...
