Senior Manager - Portfolio Supervision Division

The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (“the Authority”) is the regulatory body for the financial sector in the Isle of Man and regulates firms engaged in a range of financial activities, including insurance, pensions, banking, fiduciary services, fund administration and management and investment advice and management. The Authority is responsible for oversight of anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) compliance for those involved in the financial sector and a range of other Designated Businesses, and has oversight of compliance with the Beneficial Ownership Act 2017.

SENIOR MANAGER PORTFOLIO SUPERVISION

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Authority’s Portfolio Supervision Division as a Senior Manager Portfolio Supervision.

Working as part of the Division’s Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will play a leading role in the development, consultation, stakeholder engagement and implementation of reforms to the Island’s pensions regulatory framework, including work associated with the Retirement Benefits Schemes (Amendment) Bill. A significant element of the role will involve engaging with industry participants, professional advisers, representative bodies, Government departments and other stakeholders to help shape and implement the Authority’s future approach to pensions regulation and supervision.

The successful candidate will also oversee the effective and efficient supervision of regulated and registered firms and individuals within the Division’s portfolio and contribute as a member of the Authority’s Senior Management Team to the delivery of the Authority’s strategic objectives.

We are seeking an experienced pensions professional with significant experience working within, supervising or advising participants in the pensions sector, including retirement benefits schemes, pension administration and associated regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will have proven leadership experience and the credibility, communication skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities required to represent the Authority effectively across a wide range of industry and public sector forums.

Applicants should possess a strong understanding of pensions legislation, regulation and industry practice, together with the ability to analyse complex issues, manage competing priorities and contribute to the successful delivery of a major programme of regulatory reform. A relevant professional qualification is essential.
