Job Description

Our client seeks a Supervision Officer to join their Portfolio Supervision Teamon a 12-month contract. Role Profile: Assist in undertaking effective andefficient supervision of regulated entities, ensuring that they meet therequirements as set out in the Financial Services Act 2008 and associatedrulebook, the Authority's approach to Supervision, AML/CFT legislation andguidance and other relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities: In conjunctionwith the Manager/Senior Manager undertake appropriate preparation in advance ofon-site and desk based thematic inspections and general business meetings as perthe Supervisory Methodology Manual and associated procedures. Assist inconducting on-site and desk based thematic inspections in line with theSupervisory Methodology Manual and associated procedures. Attend supervisoryinspections and business meetings as appropriate, compiling detailednotes/minutes as appropriate. Deal with public enquiries (including complaintsagainst regulated entities) in a courteous and constructive manner and ensurelogged and reported to the Manager as appropriate. Assist with general enquiriesreceived by the Authority within agreed parameters and in the compilation ofinformation in relation to regulatory matters. Ensure all notifications receivedfrom regulated entities are logged, risk rated (Events) and reported to theManager in a timely manner. Assist in the review and contribute to proposed newand changes in existing legislation or supervisory policy as directed by theManager/Senior Manager. Provide administrative support in the maintenance ofinternal systems and procedures including Atlas, on-line reporting systems,collation of statistics, Portfolio Supervision Division procedures and theAuthority's intelligence systems as appropriate. Ensure matters considered tohave a material or significant impact on the operation of the Division and orthe Authority's strategic objectives are escalated to management in a timelymanner. Comply with the requirements set out in the Staff Handbook and otheroperational policies and procedures issued by the Authority. Work on specialad-hoc projects as identified. Maintain and develop a positive professionalculture within the Authority in line with core values. Key Skills andExperience: Desirable - Educated to GCSE level or above and/or equivalentqualification. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Strong organisational skills, including accuracy, attention to detail and recordkeeping and filing. Ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of ateam. Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly and accurately assimilateinformation and to summarise the information effectively. Ability to assist inpreparing, participating in, and documenting meetings with senior stakeholders.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Maintain a high level of discretion andconfidentiality at all times. An interest in, and working knowledge of,Financial Services and associated legislation, regulation and guidance. Abilityto provide administrative support as needed. Desirable - experience of workingin the financial services industry.
