About the role
Are you ready to use your technical expertise to help protect and shape the Isle of Man's infrastructure for the future?
As a Structural Technician / Inspector within the Department of Infrastructure's Highway Services Division, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving some of the Island's most important assets. From bridges and retaining walls to critical sea defences, your work will help ensure our transport network remains safe, resilient and sustainable for the communities that rely on it every day. Working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative team, you'll contribute to projects that support the Island's economy, connectivity and quality of life.
This varied and hands-on role combines outdoor site inspections with technical engineering support. You'll carry out structural inspections, identify and record defects, maintain accurate asset data, and use systems such as AMX and AutoCAD to support maintenance and improvement works. Whether you're collecting vital information on site, producing technical drawings, or working with contractors and colleagues to develop practical solutions, you'll see the direct impact of your work across the Island.
