Job Description
Our client seeks an Assistant Manager - Banking Supervision to join their team.
Role Profile: To support in the effective supervision of regulated firms,
falling under the responsibility of the banking supervision team, in order to
reduce threats to regulatory objectives and support sound supervisory practices.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with the effective and efficient supervision of a
portfolio of regulated banks and any other firms that fall under the
responsibility of the banking supervision team. Assist in the delivery of risk
based Supervisory Methodology through the preparation of risk assessments and
other supervisory activity associated with a portfolio of high, medium, and low
impact regulated entities. Provide general administrative support including the
maintenance of internal systems and procedures, with a focus on data quality.
Prepare for, participate in, and document meetings with regulated firms with
support from management. Undertake periodic statistical analysis which will
include data collation for external publication. Assist in developing and
maintaining systems, procedures and controls. Support the banking supervision
team in meeting its divisional objectives. Assist in identifying and assessing
potential risk trends and supervisory themes. Participate in supervisory
inspections of regulated firms. This includes undertaking appropriate
preparation in advance of on-site inspections and completing post-inspection
work. Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships including
individual regulated firms, other regulatory agencies, relevant industry bodies
and government agencies. Respond to public enquiries (including complaints
against regulated entities in banking supervision) in an efficient, courteous
and constructive manner. Assist with the collation and production of regulatory
reports on supervisory matters including recommendation papers to be submitted
periodically to management or the Board. Contribute to the introduction of new
or amended legislation, guidance, policies and procedures to ensure regulatory
requirements remain appropriate and comply with international standards.
Demonstrate initiative by taking on additional projects/tasks to support the
banking supervision team. Comply with the requirements set out in the Staff
Handbook and other operational policy and procedures. Maintain and develop a
positive professional culture. Key Skills and Qualifications: Holds, is working
towards, or willingness to undertake a professional qualification relevant to
the financial services industry. Evidence of continuing professional development
(CPD).Relevant finance sector industry experience, ideally in banking in an
operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role. Experience of or ability
to take detailed notes/minutes for meetings. Strong organisational skills,
including accuracy, attention to detail and record keeping and filing.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills, a flexible attitude and the ability to quickly and
accurately assimilate information, to consider any associated risks and to
