Job Description
Our client seeks a Finance Manager to join their team. Role Profile: This role
will be responsible for managing a team of four. The role involves budgeting,
forecasting and financial analysis to provide insights for strategic decision
making. Key Responsibilities: To effectively manage the preparation of monthly
management accounts before the end of the following month and provide commentary
on: Any deviations from budget and a comparison of actual performance versus
forecast. Analysis required on the aged debtors and creditors, comments on the
aged positions, inter-company positions and any potential bad debts. Details of
work in progress, contracts awarded, contracts pending. Preparation of annual
budgets and forecasts while considering projects that are pending and allowing
for fluctuations in turnover. Provide recommendations to the Directors of where
cost savings are required to optimise cash flow levels. Manage customer
debt/outstanding invoices, chase debtors and implement stop procedures for
outstanding debt. Preparation of the individual company financial statements and
consolidated financial statements Communicate with external auditors and use
best endeavours to make sure the audit timetable is met. Manage the preparation
and submission of quarterly VAT and GST returns Oversee the preparation and
submission of all departments monthly and weekly wages for the UK, Isle of Man,
Jersey and Guernsey. Manage the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly
and annual submissions for employers returns which include but are not limited
to the following: Isle of Man Employers Annual Return, Isle of Man Remittance
Payments & Jersey ITIS Returns. Overseeing and ensuring timely release of
electronic payments, management of purchase invoices to match income and
expenses as close as possible for optimum cash flow. Preparing reports for
management meetings which include details of aged jobs and unapproved purchase
invoices. Review of monthly charge out sheets and management of spreadsheet
preparation for invoicing. Management of the Accounts team and responsibility
for undertaking their annual performance reviews. Liaising with resident agents
in the Channel Islands to ensure they have all the information required to
continue acting as agents. Responsibility for developing a comprehensive pay
increase strategy across the company. This will involve collaborating with
department heads on performance reviews and recommending a pay increase plan
that balances employee performance, market competitiveness and financial
sustainability. Managing and preparation of client contracts and increases.
Provide timely and accurate responses to queries, ensuring clarity and
resolution on issues related to contract terms and payment schedules. Pick up
and review contracts that you may not have previously been involved with to
provide informed responses dynamically and efficiently Key Skills & Experience:
Good understanding of UK GAAP and Isle of Man Company law. Evidence of strong
post qualification experience. Experience working with accounting and
bookkeeping systems. Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a team.
Experience preparing budgets and forecasts. Strong Microsoft Office skills
