Job Description

We are seeking a secretary to join our Douglas office and provide secretarial support across the departments within our busy law firm. The work covers many different areas and you would be part of a team of two other secretaries. You will be expected to carry out a range of general administration duties, including audio typing, preparing, and amending draft documents. Your responsibilities will also involve making and receiving telephone calls, handling emails, and managing appointments, as well as assisting with queries. Additionally, you will be responsible for photocopying, filing, and other general office tasks, such as opening files and preparing completed file storage. When necessary, you may also be required to provide reception cover. The essential requirements for this role include prior experience as a secretary and a strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality. You must be well-organized, meticulous, and conscientious in your approach to tasks. Punctuality and efficiency are crucial, along with excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with both colleagues and clients. The ideal candidate will be a team player who can also take the initiative to work independently when needed. Additionally, strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential for success in this role.
