Volunteer Treasurer

We are proud to be working with CIRCA a Manx Registered Charity who provide Mobility equipment, Volunteering advice and Information to the community. They are looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to assist them for up to 5 hours per week with the following tasks: Maintain a proper and up to date records of assets, liabilities and transactions. The CIRCA staff update the cash and bank transaction sheets but the Treasurer remains responsible for them. Analyse the cash and bank transactions. The Treasurer may be asked to produce Trial Balances and year-end Financial Statements but current practice is for these to be produced by CIRCA's Independent Reviewer. Notwithstanding this, the treasurer is responsible for the accounts. Prepare and submit employer's tax return. Monthly payroll [for, currently, 3 staff] is presently run by another CIRCA director but the treasurer needs the capability to run payroll. Undertake the payment of any invoices and expenses. The Treasurer will report at board meetings if there are adequate funds for at least the next 12 months. Liaise with CIRCA'S Independent Reviewer [they do have their Accounts/Financial Statement reviewed]. There is no need for the Treasurer to be a Qualified Accountant but should be qualified by experience with an understanding of how to generate a simple set of financial statements. You will take the lead in putting together the applications for larger grant applications providing the financial information and assisting with smaller grant applications as required.
